When You Must Weep in Bitter Surrender / Art Print
When a grieving mother must hand her baby back to the Faithful hand of God.
I portrayed this mother in her worn clothes, weary from weeping, but still lovely in her surrender with flowers in her hair. The golden circle signifies her empty womb that her child should be resting in. The baby weeps along with the mother, and the hand of God is there to lovingly catch the tears as He receives the child. The gentle hand of God is blue and purple from grief, for He weeps alongside us. New life grows around the mother, because throughout the agonizing grief, the Lord remains close to His grieving daughter and in that closeness true intimacy is found with her Savior.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
